|Most people think that the ocean is a bottomless pit. They think they can throw trash into the ocean, and it will "disappear" or "nature will take care of it."
Disposing of trash in the ocean causes irreparable harm to coral reefs and their inhabitants.
It costs untold millions of dollars, both in the harm it does to fishing and breeding grounds,
as well as in tax dollars spent to clean up ocean junk.
